Resist and Respond

Resist & Respond: Idaho’s Rapid-Rights Defense Network

Resist & Respond exists because every person deserves safety, dignity, and freedom from state violence. We are building a statewide network of trained community responders who monitor ICE activity, support families after raids, and defend civil liberties through rapid, organized, disciplined action.

This is not charity. It’s not a feel-good project.

This is a movement rooted in liberation.

We are building a future where our communities protect each other, stand with each other, and refuse to let ICE operate in silence.

If you’ve ever said, “Someone should do something,” this is the place where you become that someone.

WHAT WE DO

Resist & Respond builds the statewide infrastructure needed to confront ICE militarization with strategy, discipline, and collective action.

We monitor, document, and respond to ICE activity while stabilizing families and supporting communities impacted by raids.

Our core work includes:

  1. Monitor ICE movements and activity through community eyes and our statewide hotline.

  2. Dispatch trained responders who can observe, document abuses, and coordinate support.

  3. Stabilizing families after a raid through case support, referrals, and community resources.

  4. Coordinate legal observation, documentation, and rights-based response teams.

  5. Operate regional hubs that train volunteers, build capacity, and strengthen local response networks.

  6. Track patterns of ICE activity to expose militarization and protect civil liberties.

We do all of this without violence, without confrontation, and without compromising community safety.

Our resistance is organized, not chaotic. Our power is people, not force.

HOW IT WORKS (THE MOVEMENT MODEL)

Spot It → Report It → Mobilize → Support → Document → Protect

  1. Spot It

Community members who witness suspected ICE activity call our hotline to alert dispatch.

  2. Report It

Our dispatchers verify details, activate regional hubs if needed, and coordinate trained responders.

  3. Mobilize

Volunteers trained in observation, documentation, and community defense deploy to the scene safely and lawfully.

  4. Support

Post-raid, we help families locate missing loved ones, connect with legal advocates, and receive immediate community support.

  5. Document

We gather information, track patterns, and monitor abuses to build statewide accountability.

  6. Protect

We maintain a sustained network of trained hubs that keep communities informed, prepared, and connected.

This is community self-defense—organized, disciplined, and effective.

WHO WE ARE

We are students, workers, organizers, parents, neighbors, and everyday people who refuse to let ICE tear apart our communities in silence.

We are not passive.

We are not waiting for permission.

We are building the system we always needed.

We stand for:

– community protection

– collective liberation

– rapid response

– nonviolent resistance

– disciplined action

– dignity for all people targeted by ICE

– solidarity across race, class, faith, and status

We don’t back down.

We organize forward.

WHAT WE ARE NOT

(Non-negotiable, liberation-aligned, legally safe)

We are not violent.

We resist through people power — not weapons or force.

We are not agents of the state.

We do not collaborate with ICE or assist the harm of our people.

We are not vigilantes.

We observe, document, witness, and protect.

We protect families through referrals to legal resources, community stabilization, and rights-based advocacy.

We are not reckless.

Every action is trained, intentional, and rooted in safety.

We are not performative activists.

We are here to build power — not content.

WHO CAN JOIN (IDEAL VOLUNTEERS)

We recruit people who are reliable, disciplined, and serious about protecting our communities.

The ideal volunteer is someone who:

– shows up consistently

– is comfortable with basic technology

– stays calm under pressure

– values safety of vulnerable teammates and community members.

– understands the systemic harm caused by ICE

– values community over ego

– protects confidentiality

– people who will put the needs of marginalized groups above their comfort

– believes in collective liberation

These are the people who help keep families safe.

WHO CANNOT JOIN (DEAL-BREAKERS)

For the safety of families and volunteers, we do not accept:

– people who silence or minimize POC voices, people who appeal to authority for personal gain, even at the expense of marginalized groups, and people who accept blatant lies from oppressive systems as “reasonable” and in good faith. (Alternatively, ideal volunteers are people who value and amplify poc voices, people who don’t want recognition for their work, people who value truth and call out lies from government leaders.)

– Ideal volunteers will have 2–5 hours they can dedicate to supporting Resist and Respond.

– people who overpromise and underdeliver

– People unwilling to learn about and acknowledge power imbalances or unwilling to let POC take the lead.

– People who need credit or public acclaim for their performance of kindness

– people who act as individuals rather than part of a team

– People who value and appeal to institutions above community

Our movement requires discipline.

If we can’t count on you, families can’t count on us.

START A HUB IN YOUR COMMUNITY

Resist & Respond is growing.

We are building local hubs in every region of the state to:

– train volunteers

– operate dispatch units

– build mutual aid networks

– coordinate rapid response

– strengthen community protection

If your community is ready to build an I-SPY-ICE Hub, we want to hear from you.
